چکیده

Abstract Background Many metals exhibit a stress overshoot, the so-called cross-hardening when subjected to specific strain-path change. Existing tests for sheet are limited an equivalent prestrain of 0.2 and show varying levels identical grades. Objective The aim is determine at large strains, relevant forming processes. Mild steel grades (DC04, DC06, DX56) high strength (BS600, DP600, ZE800) investigated quantify level between different reveal which all. Method A novel test setup using hydraulic bulge torsion curved sheets developed achieve orthogonal change, i.e. strain rate tensors two subsequent loadings orthogonal. influence differences clamping on determined evaluated. results compared experiments in literature. Results Cross-hardening metal prestrains up 0.6 true plastic obtained first time. For DX56 grade maximum all have constant approximately 6%, while DC04 DC06 increases, with 7 11%. BS600 ZE800 do not behavior, while, differencing from previous publications, observed dual phase DP600. Conclusion Depending microstructure increases or remains constant.

Visualizing Strain Anisotropy in Mantle Flow Fields

The evolution of strain and development of material anisotropy in models of Earth’s mantle flow convey important information about how to interpret the geometric relationship between observation of seismic anisotropy and the actual mantle flow field. By combining feature extraction techniques such as path line integration and tensor accumulation, we compute time-varying strain vector fields tha...

The Influence of Sheet Metal Anisotropy on Laser Forming Process

Cold-rolled sheet metal that is often used in laser forming exhibits anisotropic properties, which are mostly caused by preferred orientations of grains developed during the severe plastic deformation such as cold rolling. In the present study, the textures of cold-rolled mild steel sheets are characterized and the influence of the plastic anisotropy on laser forming process is investigated. De...

Giant magnetocrystalline anisotropy of 5d transition metal-based phthalocyanine sheet.

Large magnetocrystalline anisotropy energy (MAE) is a critical requirement for nanomagnets for applications in magnetic memory and storage devices. Due to small spin-orbit interaction the MAE of ferromagnetic films or single molecule magnets based on 3d metals is small and in typical magnetic nanostructures it is of the order of 2-3 meV. We show that MAE as high as 140 meV can be achieved by ap...

Converging flow and anisotropy cause large-scale folding in Greenland's ice sheet.

The increasing catalogue of high-quality ice-penetrating radar data provides a unique insight in the internal layering architecture of the Greenland ice sheet. The stratigraphy, an indicator of past deformation, highlights irregularities in ice flow and reveals large perturbations without obvious links to bedrock shape. In this work, to establish a new conceptual model for the formation process...
